As the popularity of electric vehicles continues to rise, more resources become available for EV drivers. Companies are consistently matching the innovation of vehicle development with supplementary services. One of those companies is Buzze, who Vehicle Solutions has partnered with to offer renters a wider range of pick up and drop off options and creates a more seamless rental experience. 

What is Buzze?

Buzze, “the Airbnb of EV charging” is an app that allows you to connect your Vehicle Solutions rental with its charging network. Utilizing Buzze opens up level 2 residential charging locations in the Greater Phoenix area. These charging locations also double as pickup and drop off locations of Vehicle Solutions vehicles.  

Buzze is available for both Apple and Android devices and integrates with the Tesla app, allowing you to monitor charging status and vehicle stats in one convenient location.

In addition to ease and flexibility, Vehicle Solutions and Buzze have teamed up to offer four free hours of charging at any of the selected locations.

How do I schedule a charge?

You can book a charging session at any time during your rental period. We recommend scheduling at least a 4-hour charging window. The session can be booked through the app utilizing the map feature that shows the available charging locations in the area. As long as the charging spot is open and available, you can schedule the charging session.

In preparation of returning your vehicle, you will want to pre-schedule your charge time at the same location that you picked up the vehicle. This can be done through the app within 7 days of your scheduled return date.

How do I return the vehicle?

Upon arriving at your return location, you will want your rental battery to be at least at 50%. If the battery is not going to be at 50%, you will need to increase your charging time. As long as another vehicle is not scheduled for the same charging location, you can do that free of charge. If there is no available charging time beyond your pre-scheduled 4-hour period, fees may incur. 

We recommend these charge times based on the battery life:

25% (75 miles) → Book a 6-hour charge

10% (30 miles) → Book an 8-hour charge

Less than 10% → Never return a Vehicle Solutions with less than a 10% charge

What are the charging fees?

If you are utilizing the Buzze app and any approved Buzze hosts, there are no fees for charging. You do not have to provide any sort of payment method ahead of time, and no invoices will be sent to you following the return of your rental. 

The service is completely complementary to Vehicle Solutions renters. 

Extending your rental

In the event you choose to extend your rental, you will want to follow the following steps:

1. First, reach out to the Vehicle Solutions customer support team to confirm the car is available for an extension: 480-439-4079

2. After your rental is extended with Vehicle Solutions, open the Buzze app. Pull up your scheduled return time, and select to extend or cancel that reservation. 

3. Replace the original return time with a new pre-scheduled charge window.

As long as you follow the above guidelines, there is no catch. Vehicle Solutions and Buzze’s partnership is to make renting a Vehicle Solutions easier on you by offering free and convenient charging options.
