Do I need to download the Tesla app when renting with Vehicle Solutions?
It’s not a necessity, but utilizing the Tesla app on your smartphone is recommended. Through the app, our team is able to unlock the vehicle from anywhere anytime. Once inside, you have the option to utilize the key card or continue to use the digital key to unlock and start the car.
What else does the Tesla app do for me?
-
Climate control: Before you even step into the car, you can use the app to precondition the cabin. On a hot day, you can cool down the interior, and on a cold day, you can warm it up. This ensures a comfortable driving experience from the moment you enter. This feature is essential as most of our rental locations experience hot summer months.
-
Location tracking: There’s nothing worse than aimlessly wandering around a parking lot searching for a car you aren’t as familiar with. You can easily locate your Vehicle Solutions on the in-app map and eliminate any potential embarrassment.
-
Charging management: Especially if you are new to an electric vehicle, ensuring access to charging stations can be a bit stressful. To ease that anxiety, the app helps you locate nearby Tesla Superchargers or other compatible stations. You can then monitor the charging progress and receive a notification when charging is complete.
-
Security: The app enhances security by sending alerts if someone tries to tamper with your Vehicle Solutions. It's an added layer of protection for your peace of mind if you are driving it in unfamiliar areas.
-
Valet mode: If you plan to valet your rented Tesla, you can easily enable Valet mode through the app, which restricts access to certain features and limits the car's speed to provide an extra layer of security.
